Chris Tait

Managing Director

Chris is a managing director and co-founder of Oaklins Henslow in Australia. He has been advising local and multinational companies for more than 25 years. Chris’ experience spans a large number of private and public enterprises. He focuses on general strategic advice, mergers and acquisitions – both sell-side and buy-side – private capital raising and transaction structuring. He has advised across many industries, but has particular knowledge of and expertise in the retail, tourism, media and technology sectors. Some of Chris’ most recent notable transactions include advising Sportsnet Holidays on its significant investment from US-based QuintEvents, InternMatch on their AUS$10 million capital capital raise and Website Travel Group on its divestment to Imperium Group.

Commencing his career with Deloitte’s London office, where he became a director, Chris was the head of strategy and acquisitions for WHSmith PLC before moving to Melbourne in 2001 to become the regional CFO for WHSmith Asia Pacific, which included the acquired businesses Angus and Robertson and Whitcoulls. After successfully exiting those businesses for WHSmith in 2004, he left the large corporate world and became an active investor and strategic advisor to small and medium-sized growth companies. Chris attended City University, London, and is a qualified chartered accountant.
