January 2011 — Fermentalg SA has raised US$7 million to bolster its R&D efforts in order to accelerate the industrialization process of its products.
Founded in 2009, Fermentalg is a biotechnology start-up specializing in the research and production of micro-algae. Its products are designed for applications in healthcare and cosmetics, as well as the agro-food and bio-fuel industries. The company is based in Libourne, France.
