Nextalia has acquired a majority stake in Costa Edutainment
May 2026 — Nextalia Investment Management has acquired a majority stake in Costa Edutainment S.p.A. through its private equity fund, partnering with the Costa family, which historically controlled Costa Edutainment and retained a 30% minority interest following the acquisition. The transaction aims to support Costa Edutainment’s growth and drive sector consolidation through organic initiatives and targeted acquisitions.
Nextalia is an Italian asset management platform focused on private markets, managing over US$2.3 billion across multiple investment strategies, including private equity, credit and venture capital. The firm invests in high-potential Italian companies and supports their growth through capital, strategic guidance and M&A.
Costa Edutainment is a leading Italian operator in the edutainment sector, managing a portfolio of recreational, cultural and educational facilities. It operates attractions and visitor experiences, primarily serving consumers. The group operates 12 facilities, including three aquariums, three water parks and six other thematic attractions, and owns a tour operator. It combines entertainment with education and scientific outreach, with a strong focus on environmental awareness and biodiversity protection.
