Sandy is a partner at Oaklins E. Canada and is based in Toronto. He has extensive experience in investment banking, advising company boards and business leaders on strategic transactions and capital raising initiatives. Sandy’s key areas of industry expertise include financial services, communications and technology, and engineering services. As a strategic advisor, Sandy brings a North American and international perspective with specific experience in cross-border M&A. Sandy also leads the capital markets business for Oaklins E. Canada through a wholly-owned subsidiary registered as an Exempt Market Dealer. This business specializes in sourcing growth and expansion capital for public and private corporate clients, typically through equity private placements with institutional investors.
Prior to joining Oaklins E. Canada, Sandy was the founder and president of Alexander Capital Group, a Toronto-based boutique investment bank, and before that a managing director in BMO Capital Markets’ investment banking group. His professional advisory career began in Toronto and included a posting in London, UK, where he ran the investment banking business for Burns Fry, a predecessor of BMO Capital Markets. Sandy completed an MBA at the University of Connecticut and a BSc in Engineering from Queen’s University.
