Chris Tait

Managing Director

Chris is a Managing Director and co-founder of Henslow, Oaklins' member firm in Australia. He has been advising local and multinational companies for more than 25 years. Chris’ experience spans a large number of private and public enterprises. His skills focus on general strategic advice, mergers and acquisitions – both sell-side and buy-side – private capital raising and transaction structuring. He has advised across many industries, but has particular knowledge and expertise in the retail, tourism, media and technology sectors.

Commencing his career with Deloitte’s London office, where he became a Director, he was the head of strategy and acquisitions for WHSmith PLC before moving to Melbourne in 2001 to become the regional CFO for WH Smith Asia Pacific, which included the acquired businesses Angus and Robertson and Whitcoulls. After successfully exiting those businesses for WH Smith in 2004, he left the large corporate world and became an active investor and strategic advisor to small and medium-sized growth companies. He is one of the founders of Henslow, establishing the company in 2011. Chris attended City University, London, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
