Scanfiber Composites has been acquired by Fjord Defence Group

November 2025 — Scanfiber Composites AS, a leading manufacturer of advanced ballistic protection solutions, has been acquired by Fjord Defence Group. The transaction represents a strategic step in expanding Fjord Defence’s footprint in the European defense market and provides Scanfiber with a strong platform to support its continued growth.

The acquisition creates compelling industrial and commercial synergies. Scanfiber is well suited for integration into Fjord Defence, strengthening the group’s presence in the Northern and Central European military vehicle market. Significant top-line growth opportunities are expected to be generated through cross-selling of complementary products to existing and new customers. With revenues almost entirely derived from the defense sector and closely aligned strategic priorities, the partnership is expected to accelerate growth. The transaction also expands Fjord Defence’s presence into Denmark, further enhancing its European market coverage and offset capabilities.

With nearly 30 years of experience, Scanfiber specializes in lightweight and durable protection solutions for vehicles, vessels, aircraft, buildings and personnel. The company serves blue-chip military original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across Europe. Headquartered in Sindal, Denmark, Scanfiber operates a state-of-the-art production facility and sources high-performance composite materials exclusively from reputable European suppliers.

Fjord Defence is strategically positioned as a defense compounder and is listed on Euronext Oslo Børs. The group focuses on building a portfolio of fast-growing, profitable companies to capitalize on a multi-decade upcycle in defense spending.
