SRT Marine Systems has raised US$23.6 million through an oversubscribed equity fundraising
April 2026 — SRT Marine Systems plc has successfully raised US$23.6 million through an oversubscribed equity fundraising. The transaction will enable SRT to accelerate product development and support new contract conversion and delivery, building on 426% year-on-year revenue growth.
SRT is a global leader in maritime domain awareness, providing the sovereign surveillance, navigation safety and vessel tracking systems that coast guards, defense agencies and naval authorities rely on worldwide. Its technology is already operational in Kuwait and, with tensions escalating around the Strait of Hormuz, SRT is in discussion with governments across the region regarding the potential deployment of its unmanned surface vessels (USVs) for mine detection and ship convoy escort.
Our role in the transaction
Oaklins Cavendish, one of Oaklins’ member firms in the UK, acted as the nominated advisor and sole bookrunner, supporting its longstanding client SRT in securing the oversubscribed placing, subscription and retail offer. The level of support from new institutional investors, as well as the existing shareholder base, is a testament to SRT’s significant progress in recent years. The current market presents substantial opportunities for UK defense and security-focused small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to explore their strategic options. Defense sector tailwinds remain strong, Europe is undergoing a transformational increase in defense spending and sovereign capability is increasingly attractive. Oaklins Cavendish has extensive experience in this market, advising on landmark SME transactions across its public and private markets teams.

The London Stock Exchange’s Private Securities Market (PSM) continues to demonstrate its potential as a venue for providing shareholder liquidity in high-growth private companies. Following the successful employee share sale for autonomous driving pioneer Wayve earlier this month, fintech leader Moneybox has completed a US$61 million (£45 million) employee liquidity event through the PSM. By structuring the transaction as an employee liquidity event, long-serving employees with vested equity have been able to realize some of the value they helped create while enabling Moneybox to remain private and continue its growth journey. Crowdcube managed the employee seller and investor participation process.
