June 2026 — Automatic Fire has secured investment from private equity firm Cardinal Capital to support the company’s domestic and international growth ambitions.
Automatic Fire is a Dublin-headquartered fire protection company that has operated since 1981, specializing in the design, installation and maintenance of fire safety systems across Ireland, the UK and Europe. Employing more than 100 people, the company delivers fire protection services to high-value sectors including data centers, pharmaceuticals, medtech, power, utilities, commercial, logistics and manufacturing.
Cardinal Capital is a Dublin-headquartered private equity and alternative investment firm focused on investing in and supporting the growth of Irish mid-market businesses.
Our role in the transaction
Oaklins’ team in Ireland acted as the exclusive sell-side M&A advisor to the shareholders of Automatic Fire in securing a strategic partner to support the company’s next phase of growth. The team provided comprehensive end-to-end transaction support, including transaction preparation, the identification and engagement of potential partners and the negotiation and structuring of the transaction. Oaklins’ team in the Netherlands provided valuable support through its sector expertise and market insights, in addition to its assessment of potential buyers. This transaction marked the Oaklins Irish team’s 11th transaction in the infrastructure and engineering services sector, reinforcing the team’s expertise in a market that continues to attract strong strategic and investor interest.
