International Paper Company has sold International Paper Chile to COIPSA

June 2026 — International Paper Company (IP) has sold 100% of its Chilean subsidiary, International Paper Cartones Ltda. (International Paper Chile or IP Chile), to COIPSA. Through the acquisition, COIPSA strengthens its position in the local circular packaging chain by adding IP Chile’s established commercial platform, industrial capacity and sustainable corrugated packaging capabilities. The transaction closed on 1 June 2026.

IP Chile is the Chilean operation of IP and has operated in the country since 1999 as a recognized supplier of sustainable corrugated packaging, managed locally under IP’s global corporate standards. The company has approximately 200 employees and operates a corrugated packaging plant in Graneros, 75 km south of Santiago, with an annual capacity of close to 80,000 tons.

COIPSA is a Chilean company with more than three decades of experience in the circular packaging chain, integrating recycling, paper production and packaging solutions. Owned by the Matte Izquierdo family, COIPSA owns Corrupac, which competes with IP Chile in corrugated packaging solutions.

IP is a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, with a focus on North America and EMEA.
