Freeway Fleet Systems has been acquired by Movement Software

September 2026 — Freeway Fleet Systems has been acquired by Movement Software, strengthening its position as a leading provider of fleet management and maintenance software while expanding the group’s presence into the UK market. As a strategic consolidator focused on transportation and mobility software, Movement Software will benefit from immediate product and customer synergies, with Freeway providing a strong platform for further geographic expansion across key fleet end markets.

Freeway is a provider of enterprise fleet and asset management software that enables transport operators to manage vehicle maintenance, workshop operations, compliance and parts inventory through a single integrated platform. With more than 30 years of sector expertise, the company serves organizations across the bus, coach, haulage, government and commercial fleet markets, supporting over 10,000 buses and 11 of the UK’s top 100 heavy goods vehicle (HGV) fleets. Freeway’s mission-critical software digitizes maintenance and engineering workflows, helping customers improve operational efficiency, strengthen compliance and reduce fleet operating costs. The company combines deep transport industry expertise with a highly configurable software platform, extensive third-party integrations and a cloud-native product roadmap designed to expand its addressable market and accelerate growth.

Movement Software, formerly trading as Progrits, is a Northern European software group focused on delivering mission-critical solutions to customers in the transportation, logistics and mobility sectors. Its portfolio companies provide software for fleet management, public transport, route optimization, vehicle lifecycle management and digital workflow automation, helping organizations manage complex operational processes efficiently and reliably. Our role in the transaction

Oaklins S&W, one of Oaklins’ member firms in the UK, acted as the advisor to the shareholders of Freeway. Following an unsolicited offer, the team managed a focused competitive process involving a select group of highly interested buyers, generating multiple offers and securing an improved outcome for the seller. The team supported buyer negotiations, deal structuring, due diligence, share purchase agreement (SPA) negotiations and all aspects of transaction execution through to completion. Oaklins’ team in Sweden introduced the buyer and supported local outreach.

Partes
“The Oaklins S&W team were exceptional throughout the sale of Freeway. Their technical expertise, commercial judgement and unwavering commitment ensured a successful outcome from start to finish. They were always available to support us, whether during evenings, weekends or at critical moments in the process, and their proactive approach gave us confidence throughout. Most importantly, they identified and engaged an overseas buyer through the Oaklins international network that we would never have reached independently, delivering an outstanding result for shareholders.”
