Sandy is a partner at Oaklins Canada and is based in Toronto. He is a senior advisor on M&A and capital raising transactions. His key areas of industry knowledge are financial services, technology, media & telecommunications (TMT), renewable energy and engineering services. Sandy brings an international perspective with multiple transaction experience in cross-border M&A. He also leads the capital raising business for Oaklins Canada, sourcing growth and expansion capital for public and private corporate clients. Transactions he has advised on include the sale of Bruce Telecom to Windsor Private Capital, the sale of software company ExPretio to Modaxo (a subsidiary of Constellation Software) and the sale of Reinsurance Management Associates (RMA) to a subsidiary of Redbird Capital Partners.

Prior to joining Oaklins, Sandy was the founder and president of Alexander Capital Group, a Toronto-based boutique investment bank acquired by Oaklins Canada in 2021. Prior to that, he was managing director at BMO Capital Markets. His professional career began at Burns Fry in Toronto and included a posting in London, UK, as the head of European investment banking. Sandy is a mechanical engineering graduate from Queen’s University and completed an MBA in marketing and finance at the University of Connecticut.
