Federico Velez

Director

Federico is a director at Oaklins Axia in Colombia. With over 12 years of experience in investments, M&A transactions and corporate strategy, he has a successful track record in European and Latin American cross-border transactions in renewable and conventional energy, infrastructure, real estate and financial services.

Previously, Federico worked as an investment director at Ashmore Colombia Private Equity Fund. Prior to Ashmore, he was a corporate strategy and M&A manager at Uniper SE, one of Europe’s leading energy players, where he led and participated in several transactions and investment processes in energy and infrastructure, covering renewable and conventional energy to support the company’s energy transition strategy. He also worked as a senior analyst at Altra Investments, a private equity fund focused on the Andean region, and as an investment banking analyst at Nogal Asesorias Financieras. Federico has a BS in Business from the Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administración (CESA) in Colombia and an MBA from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany.
