July 2025 — Mac’Ma has been acquired by La Costeña, marking a significant milestone for the food sector. The transaction strengthens La Costeña’s presence in new categories and expands its product portfolio in the Mexican market.

Mac’Ma is a renowned Mexican brand with over 80 years of history, celebrated for its premium-quality cookies crafted using authentic European recipes. The company operates a manufacturing facility in Mexico City with a capacity exceeding 7,000 tons per year, running continuously across three shifts. In 2023, Mac’Ma produced 3,800 tons of cookies. With a portfolio of over 70 cookie varieties and versatile packaging options, Mac’Ma caters to both year-round and seasonal occasions. Innovation has been a key driver of its growth, including the launch of an affordable product line under a separate brand, a zero-sugar range and healthy snacks through strategic collaborations. Mac’Ma’s products are distributed nationwide, serving over 500 clients and reaching more than 14,000 points of sale, primarily across Mexico City and neighboring states.

La Costeña is a leading Mexican food company founded in 1923, best known for its canned goods such as jalapeños, beans, salsas, vegetables and ready-to-eat meals. Headquartered in Mexico City, it has grown from a small chili pepper business into one of the largest packaged food producers in Latin America. Today, La Costeña exports to more than 60 countries worldwide, combining traditional Mexican flavors with modern production standards. Its brand is recognized for quality, authenticity and convenience, serving both local and international markets.
